NTMA-U
The national online training program, open to apprentices, working machinists, and anyone entering the trade.
NTMA-U is the National Tooling & Machining Association’s online training program, and it is not only for apprentices. A working machinist sharpening a skill, someone changing careers, or an employer training a crew can all enroll directly.
Apprentices in the KC NTMA Precision Machinist Apprenticeship complete their coursework through NTMA-U while working on site under an experienced journeyworker, which is what lets the program combine classroom learning with paid work.
Coursework spans the same ground as the apprenticeship itself: shop safety, blueprint reading, applied mathematics, precision machining technology, CNC machining, metallurgy and quality control.
